Recently I introduced you all to the new earning role of posting status updates to your feed.

As you may have noticed, in addition to earning from your status updates, you can now upload photos directly into them and add hashtags as well!

Using #Hashtags

With hashtags you are able to create instant connections with other FanBox users by uniquely categorizing all of your posts to specific words and phrases that other people with similar interests can view and create as well.

While many of you may be used to using hashtags on other social networks, FanBox has improved on this functionality by allowing all hashtags to have spaces in them.

Having spaces in your hashtags allows you the freedom to categorize your posts in much more detail #All The Time – without being difficult to read #Allthetime like you may be used to elsewhere.

Here’s how it works:

1)      Hashtags are currently allowed in all status updates and comments. In the future, they will work in several other areas of the site as well.

2)      While typing inside of a status update or comment box, you can create a hashtag by typing any word or phrase you want to enter in the form of “#word” – you will notice that the word you are typing becomes highlighted during this process.

3)      As you continue typing your hashtag, you can either select from a list of popular hashtags by clicking on the pre-populated words, or you can type your own hashtag out and enter two spaces to end it when you are done.

4)      Once you submit your status update or comment, your hashtag will become a link that anyone can click on to view all of the status updates that have used the same hashtag.

Posting status updates and comments just got a lot more interesting!
