JC is back.

Hello empowr citizens,

My name is JC (Johnny Cash) and I was the original community organizer here at empowr, before the initial empowr presidential election. I am an employee of empowr and work closely with the empowr engineers.

As you can gleam from my previous posts, I went silent for a while, to ensure I didn’t overshadow our democratically elected presidents.

In the recent days, it seems like there has been a need for someone to step up and bring some clarity to a number of issues, so I will be posting again temporarily.

I’m thinking about posting around four (4) high level categories:

1.      1. Short-term earning tricks and techniques for you

2.      2. Long-term strategies for your longer term success

3.      3. Addressing rumors that might be circulating   

4.      4. New product and feature announcements

 

As a result of this journey, I promise that:

A) you will learn a lot;

B) empowr will learn a lot from you; and

C) together we will fine-tune and improve our products, invent new products and bring them to you, and accelerate our approach to accomplishing the empowr mission.

 

 

My approach to blogging

As a blogger, I take my commitment to my readers seriously, therefore:

1.  Useless comments:  I will be deleting all useless comments – such as “Thanks for sharing”, “Good post” and other such useless garbage that make it harder for readers to engage in the conversation. 

(Imagine if you’re trying to have a meeting with some friends, and some idiot keeps interrupting your discussion with “Thanks for talking” and “Nice”. Very annoying and takes away from your ability to focus and achieve results).

 

2.  Unrelated comments:  I’ll also be deleting comments that don’t relate to the topic of the blog post.  Example: If the post is about “Power User subscriptions” or “Ad Credits” and you decide to ask or discuss some other topic in your comment, I’ll be deleting your comment.

(That includes any personal identifying info. I am not taking over the responsibilities of your success coach. If you have issues, ask your current success coach or get a different one).

 

3.  Stay constructive. If you don’t care enough (or aren't smart enough) to engage in a discussion -- one that you might have to invest some brain cycles in -- and your only desire is to simply call empowr a scam because you cannot or don't want to understand it, your comment will be deleted. I might even block you from joining any of my conversations and posts, so everyone else (that folks that DO care enough to invest their brain cycles) don't have to deal with your petty negativity. 

(Look - I have no problem with constructive criticism –  in fact that’s how we’ll learn together, and improve both your skills and the empowr products together.  But if you’re only here to be destructive, you have no place being in an Open Alpha Phase project like empowr is right now, and therefore you will be ejected from the conversation and maybe even the site. On the other hand, if you’ve got constructive criticism, don’t hold back – things may get heated but we’ll end up better as a result).


4.  Speak up, but also be willing to listen. When you say stupid things, I'm going to call you out.

 

5.  And finally, I will try, but likely will not succeed... at responding to everyone's comments. Apologies in advance, as there is one of me, many of you, and I already work another 16 hours per day at my other (non-blogging) responsibilities.

I hope that the marketplace get better ideas and more attractive to citizens, the way it look like these days is getting less deals, for example; we cannot see someone's all products that he or she offers like before, only few items & some cases are outdated.

I agree with both of you. Marketplace need major re-engineered so that the sellers also can gain something from their sales as they have invested on the items they are selling and the shipping cost too. So far buyers are on the winning side and the sellers on the losing side. I have seen so many great sellers left the Empowr marketplace as they were frustrated with the economy system there. I also end up selling blogs packages or sponsoring which not require any investment in advance like the physical items that i sold previously. Hopefully anyone can come up with the solutions on how to overcome this unfortunate situation. Thanks for your kind attention.

I agree - we are out of pocket for 90 days or more on items that we have sold and paid postage on. there should be early cashout available to cover these costs

Great, the site is getting better day by day so It's already obvious that the empowr team is doing their best, I was so glad to see the pop up "New announcement" showing that there is a new post in the presidential blog post.
Some of the topics I would really like to discuss are
1) Matured cash-outs are not really working including the managed ad campaign utilization, are they included in the list to be fixed?
2) Som months ago, we heard about a new payment process "Skrill", soon to be introduced on the platform, is that still included in "to do list" or the idea is rejected?
3) Support tickets system is not functional and really productive yet, we'd like to discuss it too.
I'll be adding more questions and topics as soon as they come to my mind, for now these were the most important one I could think of.

A suggestion: Perhaps only one update of the balance daily It keeps going up and down and when you are busy so many emails in a day take time. I'd rather spend time in the system and it gets confusing. I can then check my balance when I'm interested.

Hi Robert, I must admit I am confused. You only get one revenue statement emailed to you each day, with (on some days) a follow-up from your success coach. Would you please elaborate as to which updates of the balance you are referring to?

I have a very burning question, please tell me why the SC's do not talk to you. I have had 8 SC's in the last 10 weeks and not a one of them have done a single thing for me.
I thought, and see right there on the test for SC that you are required to get back to your citizen within 24 hours and 9 if possible.
I continue to ask several times a week to each of the SC's that I was assigned and a big fat zero... this is the only thing that frustrates me the most, no communication.
I have issues and cannot find a way for anyone to answer me... what am I suppose to do..
Support will always and still continue to say get a hold of your SC for answers.... this is the wrong advice if it does not work.
I am only a 1000 miles away from the office there, so may I pop in and talk to a real person?
I am serious... how are we suppose to communicate... you do not publish your phone number on purpose, maybe I will google the board of directors or even the president himself just to get some kind of response.
And now this forum has presented itself, I only expect more of the same.... nothing...

Please prove me wrong.... or give me an avenue to talk to someone.

Jeff, there's simply no acceptable answer to that question. IE: It is simply not acceptable that your SC is not responding to you.
I will ask Marcus, the president, to look into your SC selection and communication history and get back to you, and figure out how to ensure the crappy experience you have had is less likely to happen to others.

Glad to see you are involved and posting. i was looking for clarity on early cash out. when i tried to do early cash out. it said i must be at the highest power user level Achieved. well that was 1st degree green and it said 2nd degree which i was not... see I almost was, but within the 72 hr time, i chose to be at the 1st degree. I didn't get answer from my success coach. can you explain/ clarify on power level. and i was ok in the other requirements, going green.

Hi Vicky, the requirement for being at the highest power level you've ever been at, is to stop cheaters.
What were the cheaters doing? Dropping their power level, so all of a sudden, they had more green gauges (because they were further along than the others that were just coming up to that level) and therefore they could cash out more. When they cash out more, it means the others has less to cash out. Does this make sense?

yes I understand. and its sad that people try to cheat and make it unfair to honest members. in my case, the 1st degree green was a cost of 500, that I paid, and the 2nd degree user 750. . my early cash out was not big enough, not worth it. even though my earnings were up to 10,400. and ipl used being 9,000. roughly.
so I decided to keep posting and not necessary to spend the 750. . My queston still unanswered is= I never was 2nd degree and it will still reflect that I was at that level. can that be corrected. ?

You were second degree green then you dropped down that is why the highest power user level ever was 2nd degree even if it was only less than 72 hours.

Hi JC, glad to hear about the marketplace plan to better Empowr. Really agree about constructive commenting for better results and not be boring too. Commenting the same word over and over again all throughout doesn't make any sense and no connection in conversation. Happy to hear this upcoming changes for the benefit of all and make our place healthy and happy.

Nice report J.C. but here is the thing, many of us feel like the problems are not being solved just placed on the shelf.
If we become too pushy our accounts would become deleted and forgotten.

Look at your paper Dollar in your wallet J.C. It says quite clearly that this note is legal tender for all debts both public and private. Had Fanbox accepted my USD in my marketpace account for fees I owed, my account would be doing just fine.

Now my account is completely "bankrupted" with multiple back fees and late fees. ( I have posted these but were deleted.)

Ok, so now what? Who is planning to fix my account? I have asked that the evil doers voluntarily come forward and replenish and fix my account hoping they will see the light in being a good person, but nothing is happening so far. Can you turn my account into a positive asset presumably the way it would be had my USD been accepted?

Thank you JC for your kind reply, I appreciate your blog and the opportunity that you give us to express ourselves and the problems we are having. So as for a specific topic-

I would want to know how a person like yourself who knows what he is doing and and who is an expert in his
field... If the tables were turned and you had these account issues, what would you do? how would you get your account fixed? or maybe we should all just accept that there is nothing that can be done and forget about it.

What say you?

Good question, Naked Guy. One that has me pondering...
I think that this whole thing is a work-in-progress -- started with nothing and on its way to near-perfect -- but only somewhere in the middle so far.
The challenge, of course, is trying to get to build it and get it to near-perfect with no investment capital. The difficulty is that we are trying to do this with less than one-tenth of one percent (IE: 0.001) of Facebook's headcount -- but with zero capital -- so things will take longer and there will be pain for everyone as we get there. For now the best person to speak with is your success coach, so ask around if you need to switch. Notice that many people leave comments about how great their SC is, so it shouldn't be hard to become very satisfied with your SC.

Hi JC it is good to see you back, I would like to add to the list of issues on the site
No.1/ the "see more" button on posts
No.2/ removing people from our network that have been removed from the system and longer exist on empowr
No.3/ BIGGEST issue yet, pay details, profits, fees etc....
the website payment system is well designed for accountants, but realistically we are not all accountants.
it maybe alot easier for newbies and citizens if there was more direction such as links that connect ad fees and power ups and real time information regarding these as easy access on the balance sheet, somewhere that people can see the ad fees on there balance sheet or a button to click, I found it hard to navigate around at first.
I personally think the main issue is the payment system, it doesn't clarify enough ... maybe what Stephen Nelson is mentioning too. Thank you

Hi Angel, thanks - hoping to make a positive contribution. I agree, it's complicated and it would be good for the balance to offer more details especially show ad credit utilization without a newbie having to go to the ads page. That needs to happen, in my opinion too.

Just to clarify I am "conspiracy theories" too. (JC will already know this)
I think people need to take responsibility for themselves, educating people about the system or my strategy in using the empowr system is just a very little contribution towards building trust within the people I meet here on Empowr.

I have watched SMS, FANBOX and EMPOWR build and it would not still be here 16 years later if it was a SCAM. No I haven't earned big infact I haven't passed my 90 maturation, but for 4 months work I have brought and received products and early cashouts as well as built a profiting network where I can sell, share and make friends.
I find it very offensive when people ask how much I am earning, is this real?
First of all who and what are you? are you the tax department, my salary payer? This is YOUR and mine BUSINESS platform that lovely EMPOWR is providing as a product. Unless you are willing to disclose your personal life earnings and pay my fees :) , don't ask me about mine. Your success coach is your empowr teacher and banker. Ask them! EMPOWR is my business!!
EDUCATION is the only way to the top and none of us mind educating, but we are not going to do the work for you, be responsible, if you are investing in this platform treat it like an investment and work on it.
Sorry about the rant, but I think most of the scam issues come from being uneducated and misinformed. Ask informative questions, get informative answers............. but don't expect miracles

I always try my best to help people understand empowr (FanBox before) in the right way. I have read all of your posts within 5 years and translated all basic posts into Vietnamese.
And I always try to share my experience to work well on empowr in my own way to help empowr citizens.

The most import thing empowr should focus is to build a good and security transaction in the marketplace and policy to help sellers to get back some main parts of their capital to reinvest in their business on empowr.
empowr should create E-shipping doc (E-commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading) to make all transactions more security and prevent cheaters with virtual transactions.

I will discover more and give more suggestion to develop this platform.

I dream in future I get some shares of empowr in the New York stock market.

Hi, JC! I have some questions and perhaps some suggestions (since this is an Alpha and all).

The first question is: where does empowr get its revenue? I've not seen ads in the traditional social media platform manner. I do see "ads" of people sponsoring a listed item or blog.

Next, will there be the ability, in the future, to tag people in a comment? Or to edit a post/comment?

Also, I can't find anything that tells me how to change preferred payment method. For example, if I tie a credit card to it, how do I change that CC # should I need to (e.g. CC was stolen and then replaced)?

Hi Mishelle, empowr generates revenue from transactions fees on products and services sales, advertising and subscription revenue from power user revenue. It's goal is to return 97% of that revenue to its users.
Tagging people in a comment is on the list, as is editing posts/comments. The list is very, very long, I must warn you, and the team very small, in order to keep costs low and ensure revenue can be returned to citizens. Good question about how to switch out stolen card. I will need to ask and get back to you.

if you make a paypal account and connect your credit card you can change your credit card at anytime, this may help in the mean time because empowr accepts paypal. This is what I have done while empowr are working hard behind the scences to add and update the site.

welcome back. pls try to improve our cash out side also.empowr citizens are spending their own money but no any cash out. i spent $1200 for adplatform fees as basic red power user. after 5 month i got $2500 matured cash. but that matured cash charged for utilized adcredit by empowr. what happening here. we cant understand.pls if u can try to solve this problem.

There is problem with my marketplace. I have listed some blogs, services and even products for selling, 2 months ago. And none of them is active yet. I asked to SC and he is saying that you will receive a message whether it is activated or rejected but I never seen any message regarding to my listings. They are not showing in marketplace.
Some of them are now showing auction complete, even the auction never started as it always show Ends in 10 days, 0 Hours.

I would like some fairly detailed information as to exactly how to get to the point where I am making some $$ that I can cash out. I've been active on empowr for about a year and a half and am currently a 2nd degree green power user. My plan is to get to red star level as soon as possible. My earnings have currently hit a plateau and I've been kind of fumbling around and trying to glean as much as I can out of training videos and in conversation with my SC but feel I could benefit from something like a step by step list of things to do to maximize everything I do. I'm currently working primarily on closing loops with as many people as possible since I know that the way to increase my earnings is to increase the size of my network. I don't mean to ramble and will stop now and wait for a response form you!

A pesar del entusiasmo y aptitud de preferencia por el funcionamiento efectivo de la plataforma tecnológica y la gran diversidad de contenido que se intercambia diariamente en este sitio, en el fondo todos nosotros perseguimos un objetivo, el objetivo es hacer negocio y finalmente obtener un dinero adicional. Es otra opción disponible en el Mundo del Comercio por Internet, es por ello, que usuarios no satisfechos generan comentarios negativos.
Yo me pregunté en varias oportunidades por que "Empowr" no estableció el método de "Anuncios Publicitarios" como en las Páginas PTC, esta posibilidad pudiera ayudar a obtener más ganancias.
Espero que los miembros de la directiva "Empowr" seleccionen o adopten el modelo de operaciones más adecuado que se adapte a las necesidades de todos..Me despido atentamente....

Why can't ad fees be taken out of the money earned instead of money from jobs or something because some of us don't have money at the time that ad fees need to be paid. It would help many of us out. All fees should come out money that has been earned and then you would keep a lot more on Empowr and decrease those saying that this is a scam. I was a frequent posting, blogger, selling recipes, etc. Then when I hit a hard spell and not able to pay some fees I have lost an degree. I lost money out of the money earned that I worked hard for. I can't optimize at full amount and it seems you guys made it harder to earn compare to how it was when I first joined. I ask to speak to someone and I got an empty email from the president saying nothing. It wasn't even a form letter. Just a blank president email that I couldn't respond back to. What is wrong with that picture. You have a lot of people questioning the process. I was used to getting on and meeting new people and now all I see are same ones with hardly any news one at all. Are you really going to make changes for the better? or let things get worst where people just won't come on anymore. Let's really talk about this. If I have almost $5,000 dollars totally earned shouldn't that be used to pay fees and not fees coming out of your pocket. Especially if you don't have it because home bills come first before anything else. Sometimes home bills take all and you have nothing left to pay ad fees with so why should we be punished and loose levels and money earned when money could come from what we had earned to keep things going smooth. So again I must ask. Are you really going to help make this a better opportunity or cause a lot of people to just stop being on this site? The power is in your hands. I look forward to see what you are going to do.

What you are saying is forget the money I owe you and pay me money that you owe me first.

2 - earn money
3 cashout profits....... PROFITS
that is how the real world works.

OK, let me see how to explain this.

Let's say you have 10 apples in a box. You put the box out on the front lawn, and tell everyone that they can take can add apples, or take apples.

Now let's say that 10 people take 1 apple each. And no one puts any apples in. You will be left with no apples in the box.

So you ask people to please put an apple in, before taking one. But they say, we really like to take apples, but not put any in. They explain that the putting of apples in the box, makes them feel like they are being scammed. And if you could allow them to only take apples, then they would feel better.

So you look at your empty box of apples, and you close your eyes and pray and wish that some more apples will miraculously appear so that everyone can take apples and no have to put any in. But as hard as your pray, no apples miraculously appear.

So, in the end, you lost 10 apples, have an empty box, and have people mad at you, calling you a scam, because you were not able to make apples out of thin air, You lower your head in shame, and feel really bad for not finding a way to make apples appear -- other than the 10 you took from your own family to give to these total strangersm the ones that are calling you a scam.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous you are for not understanding that empowr can only give out 100% of the money it receives, back to its members?

A suggestion: Instead of throwing around the "scam" word so freely and unashamedl, you should ask yourself what you can make of yourself in the empowr economy. Maybe you should take a moment to show some gratitude to the people that have given all their apples to people like you - even though they never once asked for such gratitude.

I could care less myself for your gratitude, because I feel bad for you, I really do. I can be poor and still find a way to give my time and my life to others. But it breaks my heart to see people (empowr employees, success coaches and regular empowr citizens) giving 10 or even 15 years of their life to this mission, and have to read, and feel ashamed, by a total stranger like yourself, that is so quick to call names.

I know you're not calling empowr a scam, but to even bring that up -- while you bring up your totally ridiculous point that it would be better to only take out money and never put any in - is a slap in the face of everyone involved. It just makes people feel "with people this stupid as citizens, why even bother building this thing. It will simply never work".

OK, I promised I would speak my mind, and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I feel that on behalf of many citizens, SCs and employees, this needed to be said.

JC first of all it's not I throwing that word scam around so don't put that on me. Get your facts straight on that point. Two instead of trying to talk down to someone who you think don't understand the process is also wrong and I didn't talk down to you. Like you I have two BA" and An Associate degree. You never read nothing I posted as it being a scam. Now others have posted to me that but I have never posted this was a scam and that is slander. Apparently you didn't understand what I was saying and assumed what I was talking about. It figures it would get turned around that I didn't know how it worked when actually I do and my time on this proved that. I don't need you feeling bad for me and as for the gratitude that is crazy.

Through the whole thing it was condescending and talking at someone which I never did to you. Then you say I through around the scam word then next you say I didn't. So why did you say it? That didn't make sense to blame someone for something they didn't do. Go back and you and this conspiracy theory person re-read what I put and comprehend what I was saying which was not put nothing in. I totally wasn't saying nothing of the kind.

You asked what our comments were on some of the things going on with empowr and I gave several ideas which got misconstrue into something else. It's as if you are trying to lay everything at my feet. Another thing you didn't hurt no feelings here. I served my country and made it back so how do you think that talking down to someone or at someone was going to hurt my feelings. Speaking your mind and talking at someone are two different things.

If you were talking to a child it might have been alright but a grown 50 something adult that is what I took as offensive not hurt feelings. I spoke with respect even if I may have or not agreed it was still with respect. I believe to get respect you have to give respect and I gave it but didn't get it back in return. Again I was making suggestions or how something could work in certain situations.

3. Deleting Accounts That are Not Active. There are people in my circle of trust who I can't close the loop. but they still keep popping up.
4. Deleting Old Items from the "I'm Selling" area. I haven't been able to remove items which I am no longer selling

Nice to see you back JC,

I have to concerns,

1-On 8th of this month, I noticed that my earning ( in Power UP tab) dropped suddenly by more than $7000 after getting the announcement of paying my Ad Platform Fees, leaving me without enough funds to pay the fees, but I succeeded after few days to earn some money to pay them in 2 steps before the due date, I payed $5000 and got back 50% then I used them to pay the remaining.
And I have noticed that some citizens are facing same problem, and actually I used their suggestions to complete the payment in this 2 steps way.

2- This is related to point one above, now this shortage in funds of more than $7000 that the system has deducted will affect the upgrading to the next Power User level, or actually in simple calculation of daily earning I will even not be able to stay on same level, but I am gonna downgrade to a lower level, and looks like I am losing the Early Cashout feature.

I am currently on First Degree Teal Power Level!

What do you think about this issue,

Hi JC welcome back. I would like to recomend 2 things. First try to fix the communities. We cannot delete them. I have 3 and i canot manage them i tryed to delete 2 of them but is bugged i dont know. 2nd Put a "dislike" buton if we dislike some posts or are offending...i cannot stand waching pornografic material and have to like them to close the loop my wife will kill me. Congratulations on your work. Empowr has opened doors that I used to dream of, too. I've been lurking around for a few years, watching, analyzing, waiting. I, too, have tripped excessively over cash out options. It took me forever to figure it out, and I am a fairly educated cookie. I still have not cashed out. However, I have been making progress, and it does appear that my numbers are in recovery. I like that !!!!!!!!!

I made many, many mistakes in empowr/fanbox. I was not present and active in my earnings, too often. I could not pay my fees, and fell behind. I did not utilize my ad credits. It looks like I still have a ways to go before cashing out, but I'm (somewhat ?) certain that my Christmas money will be okay. There are ad credits to pay, and I could stand some relief on platform fees, but now that I am powering up, I might not encounter too many more complications there. Money is such a critical talking point these days, I do fully recognize and understand the frustration I see in other posts.

Empowr has the power to win, all day every day. We just need to keep the communication lines open and let the system work for us.

Thank you JC for again on board, I read the comments and your reply too, some one like Umair Saddiqui pointed out that huge ad credit utilization near to 90 days earning maturity doesnt allow any one to cashout. It is really really a big issue and many doc are made towards this but all invain. I strongly recommend to control that so some one could cashout mature earning after the one year or more of struggling and failing which nothing but leaving the empowr as I witness. Thanks.

I didnt know you even existed. I am really happy that you give us the opportunity to discuss different issues and problems we face on empowr.
There is one thing that I would like you to look at. The paying and billing system. Recently I have paid a sum of $230 from my paypal account that doesn't appear anywhere on empowr. (I had to pay again the remaining fees) . I discussed the matter with my SC, which by the way is the best SC ever, and I also contacted the billing department. I got no serious answer nor a solution to my problem. As a result I consider this money lost. SCs are not billing experts or contables. They can't resolv issues such as mine. So I suggest that there should be created a service to deal with such matters.
If there are any details you want to know about my problem I am willing to provide you all the data.

I am sure you’ll have your hands full 24x7! I have been a loyal member for the last 21/2 years. Joined in response to your invite! Good talking to you now.
What I find lacking (badly at that) is the communication. SCs are not in a position to communicate in time or suggest a solution.I have had 4 or 5 so far. I was forced to change because they just went silent!
With Tech Support Team, it is another story altogether. Either it is ‘Contact your SC’ or a ‘template’ reply saying they are looking into it and would revert ASAP. That ASAP never comes. My SCs also have the same complaint. They say they raise a ticket and it remains unanswered! They just raise their hands!
I have my USD 10,000 withheld/blocked for the last 45 days against an auction although 3 attempts have long gone by without any success. I have been requesting the Tech team to cancel the order and refund my hard earned money! NO response. Because of this I was downgraded to 3 levels lower (from second level purple to red’ . I have been losing earnings besides being unable to encash the ECOs. Very painful indeed. I have tried hard to crawl back to basic purple. Out of sheer desperation, I wrote to the President last week.. No response so far.
I just want to tell that the system/ tech team has to deal with quick settlement of the problems faced by the aggrieved members. Communication is the key to success of any organization. There is no way any of us has a clue to the happenings in Empowr. I am shocked to see that every day for the last 3 weeks or so, I am loosing 30 fans. I have lost 1000 fans so far. I presume that they must have left. That kind of exodus is sure to set the alarm bells ringing! My earnings have fallen!
I would earnestly request you to set the communication channel right, be responsive and have a FAQ section and not but not the least have a suggestion box opened. That will help members to educate themselves.

Yes. I believe in Empowr. It is something very novel, but needs faster response mechanism in place. I am a kind of computer challenged guy. I am a senior citizen. And there are many like me giving me their august company I am sure:) So , people like us need to be 'educated' in a sustained manner and treated with some empathy.and the site be made more user-friendly.
