Marketplace Approvals

As you all know, the marketplace is a primary driver of the empowr economy. In order to drive growth, each of you have been working to hit your Daily Goal by listing new products daily (in addition to sharing, posting and bidding).

After hearing many of your concerns about not being able to hit your Daily Goal due to listings not being approved quickly enough, we’ve taken a closer look at the moderation process and workflow to see if there is anything that we can do to make it more efficient.

We are working throughout the rest of this week to resolve the issue, and will be taking the following step today:

Any listings that have currently been waiting for over 48 hours to be moderated will be temporarily paused and then relisted. 


NOTE: We need your help to relist your item(s)!

To resubmit any of your listings that are paused, simply visit your I'm Selling page, click on the listing and submit it again.

If you change your mind about listing any of the individual items again, you don’t need to do anything.

If you do relist item(s), make sure that they meet the marketplace guidelines so that they are not rejected – which will keep you in the auto-approval zone. What’s that?


What’s the auto-approval zone?

If 9 or 10 out of the last 10 items you listed were ultimately approved, your next listings will be auto-approved and instantly available for purchase. (After they are live, they will still be reviewed).

However, if only 6, 7 or 8 of the last 10 items you listed were approved, your listings will need to wait to be reviewed and approved before being made available for purchase.

And if 5 (or less) of your last 10 listings were approved, you won’t be able to list any new items in the marketplace for the next 7 days.

So you really want to pay close attention to the marketplace guidelines

… and ensure that your listings have enough value -- so they are not rejected for reasons of “insufficient value”.  

Also, make sure they are NOT digital goods, such as photos, ebooks or recipes, etc. Those can be sold as premium blogs, but not products.


In the coming days, you will notice that that moderation times will be dropping significantly.

Thank you Brian and Staff for understanding some of the problems that members are having with the Marketplace. I know it will eventually be worked out. That is Part of Evolution and Evolution is a part of Growing. I have made mention to my Success Coach some areas that be improved upon that would cut down on the Rejection Rate. And Speed up the Processing time. Let me know if you don;t understand what I am saying cause I can talk to the Developers.

1) The Rejection's are mostly due to Shipping price is not appropriate for product.
**Understand we can not ship to other countries for same price as inside our country.**
**I suggested we make two boxes ( One for Inside Your Country and another for Outside Your Country or International**

2) The Rejection's are about Shipping Details Not being Clear enough or my Favorite Not enough Detail.
**I recommended that we have Radio Buttons or Check boxes for ( How it will shipped and how long it will take to deliver it)**

Those two things will cut down on the processing time tremendously. As it takes out the human equation and the Listing can not be done without it filled in.

Last thing I would like to recommend looking into is the way the payments are handled for winning bidders. I know I have almost every item come back because no one understands that the Balance does not Pay for the item purchased. I have my setting et as to what is recommended but it does not cover any Marketplace items I have won from bidding. And with so much Confusion with more and more new members joining I have my original one item listed maybe three times. It is confusing me and I am Selling them. Please consider making it mandatory that members have a balance in their Marketplace account by depositing money into so they can bid. I do have suggestion if you are open to it, that is do like I do my business and sell Gift Cards of $5-$100 in value. This way members can purchase the Gift Card from the Marketplace and it gives them a Instant Balance to pay for Items. If you interested this let me know and I can submit the details for the company I use and you can talk to them to find out what they can do for Empowr.

I like the ideas too bc mine get rejected a week later for nothing. I follow guidlines & ones that have been approved are not now. I sell the same things & put all info in the same but some get approved & some get rejected. now that I have met most days goal till now I wake up this morning to only 9 days & I was over 20??? some of these glitches need addressed soon bc a lot are getting very discouraged over selling & marketplace.

Please do something for the following issues in marketplace: -
(1) Fixed priced products remain ACTIVE for an unending period even after they've been sold out. They should disappear from our profile's front page as well as I'm selling page in the market place instantly as they're sold & should appear only in I've sold Section.
...
(2) Products we sponsor are appearing at three places i.e. I've bought Section, I'm sponsoring Section & I've sponsored Section (if they've been sold). When we buy something, it should appear in I've bought Section but once we decide to sponsor it, then it should appear ONLY in I'm Sponsoring Section, & when it is successfully sold, it should ONLY appear in I've sponsored Section. And if it is not sold out by sponsoring & sponsor period is over, then it should revert to I've bought Section. In present situation, every time current auction is completed for one or more items, we can only sort out sold out items through sponsoring by opening both the sections i.e. "I'm Sponsoring & I've Sponsored" in separate tabs at once and check each item individually, which takes too much time. Otherwise we keep sponsoring the sold out item again and again until it's sponsor period is over. Even when sponsor period is over, the product still remains in "I'm Sponsoring Section", when actually it is not being sponsored at this stage. This is a huge confusion.

This doesn't work. When I go to my auctions and click on "Action", I get only "Delete" option, not to resubmit again.
Maybe that's because I list about 2 auctions every day and still not even one listed auction was not even reviewed, since Sept 17th. All my auctions since Sept 17th to these days, all of them still have "Note reviewed yet" status.

So how can your advice help to solve that problem, if I get only "Delete" option after I click on "Action", to resubmit my auction?

Have you tried to Save all your submissions as a Draft. Then after doing all of them resubmit them one at a time til you have cleared out the problem?

Hi Brian. My issue with listing s at the moment, is who does the approving? Why have 7 of my auctions gotten approved or not pulled and they all say the exact same thing in the mailing/shipping details because I copy and pasted it. And yet when I list other items for auction with the exact same details, they get rejected. I have even had the exact same item, get rejected by one person and with no changes get approved by someone else. There needs to be a more fluent way to do this, where there is no way I can get rejected and then approved for the exact same thing. The terms need to be laid out more easily. Even having a section somewhere on example shipping details or what needs to be said in it i.e.Type of packaging - How long will it take to ship - and type of shipping i.e. 1st class mail/priority mail and so on. Thanks for anything you can do in regards to this as well. Because I am missing out hitting my daily goals as well because of this issue, and a few others I know are having the same issues.

Wiih pain and disdain I am writing.Today my listing could not come up and I will not be able to complete goal in all 4 categories.Till Yesterday there was no problem.Today again 9/10 rule started applying.This way Millions of us will not be able to earn a cent in AMCO.Understand this.1.No AMCO 2.Product cost I have o bear.3.Shipping charges I have to pay from my pocket.Whereas buyer gives money to Empowr which includes bid price+courier charges.Now tell me how can I continue with business if there is no Cash in my pocket?Courier charges paid by me in cash,item sold costs me in cash. On top of it buyer wants delivery in time and raises dispute as well.Oh my God where is this Model exhists where you pay All Fees to Empowr+Pay for Product+Pay Shipping Charges from your Pocket withut earning a Cent in your Pocket.Chasing 90 days Maturity is a mirage.please help me as I am from a lower middle class.I can not borrow loans to Pay all this for no return in sight.Help make AMCO user friendly and not restricitive trade practice. ASAP

My concern.
1) We might have an option to cencel our list if there anything going wrong or mistake than resubmit again.
2) For premium blog package listing, i just recently have rejected, so please educated us with clear guidelines, so that we not make mistakes. For example my blog title "Four rules for Healthy lifestyle" is was selling and some my customers is sponsored it, but just yesterday it was rejected after almost 2 months in marketplace. How it happened?
3) How we going to do with our products its being sale with very good price, but then the customers sponsored this but then it not getting good sale price then they disputes the sale or leave it unpaid, so what benefits to us?
Hope some clarification about this.

LACK OF MODERATION TO MY LISTINGS HAS GREATLY IMPEDED ME FROM HITTING MY DAILY GOALS THIS MONTH.

Thanks Brian for the update! I'm very much disturbed by the way the listings are being handled. I want to express my experience through some examples

1. I posted three listings for my translation services and sold them. I took an extreme care about the description and shipping details. My former success coach guided me in this process. After pitching the three service listings, my fourth one and others of the same category with same specs were rejected. The rejection basis was absolutely not a solid one, stating that the listing offer intangible things, not allowed by Marketplace rules. Now please tell me! How can I provide something tangible if I'm offering my translation skills or any other professional skills. You know, the work is received in soft form and the work done is sent in the same soft form. Normally, services are intangible products If my previous same listings were approved, then why the later ones of the same kind were rejected?

2. My several product listings were put on hold for many many days, and then rejected, on the grounds for not having sufficient shipping details. The shipping details were sufficient, as I had clearly mentioned the way to deliver the goods. In response to these rejections, I mentioned a large number of similar but approved listings by other citizens. I received no response from your team.

3. After my strong protest on the long hold of my listings, your team approved some of my products and services listings. But to my surprised, they rejected one of the product listing after two days of its approval, manual approval, by the same team. Between those two days, the listing was successful to secure 11 bids. This rejection really irritated me. The teams has rejected a listing they approve couple of days ago. This time, the rejection ground was "Overestimated" shipping cost of US$10 (The product was offered within my own country). It was a home electronics product and delivering it through a shipping agency (in a proper and safe container) normally costs more than $10. How can one know, sitting there in USA, that $10 is an overestimated shipping cost for that product in my country (Pakistan)? Here, a single page letter costs almost $1.1 if sent through a courier. Isn't it an unjustifiable rejection in both the aspects I mentioned?

4. I offered a Recipe premier blog through listing. It was also rejected on the ground that it offers something intangible, not allowed under the Marketplace guidelines. This is amazing. isn't it?

5. My listing is suspended for 7 days because of your rules. Whenever my time gets near to the end of that suspension period, I get a new rejection from my already active listings, restarting my suspension period. This really looks a mess, or something else.

6. I request you to devise a way so that citizens could directly communicate with the relevant teams if they face some problems. Success Coaches are not able to resolve an issue related to the functioning of your teams and empowr. SCs just can guide. My own SC showed his inability to do something about the issues I'm facing. The lack of communication between citizens and empowr is causing problems and complicating the things. Empowr should have a customer service, active 24/7.

Because of all these things, it's not possible for me to meet my daily listing goals.

Thank you for the very detailed explanation of your empowr marketplace experience.

Currently the moderation process consists of multiple Success Coach moderators (from around the world) who are reviewing all listings that are submitted. While all moderators are trained in the same manner, unfortunately there is the opportunity for human error when moderating listings, which is what it sounds like has happened in your case. As mentioned in the post, we are working to further improve the moderation process throughout this week so that we are not only faster at moderating, but also more accurate and consistent with how listings are moderated.

Based on what I'm hearing from you, I believe the changes we are making to the moderation process will help address many of your concerns. We will be releasing those details later this week, but in the meantime I'm going to have someone from our end reach out to you first thing today to get to the bottom of those rejections you've had to see if there are additional learnings we can take from it to improve everyone's experience.

Thanks for the information. So far all my listings were auto approved. But my question is not quite related with the topic issue. Is it possible that the shipping cost will not included in the listing? Because sometimes the shipping cost also differentiate depending on the distance. Most of my items cost less than shipping fee and I cannot always provide the fee out of my pocket. You see sir I am buying those items. Even if I put a small gain on each item, I will not receive my payment soon because it would take 90 days maturity right? I am already burden with waiting and even if I received ECO last month, I cannot even cash it out because my account is not yet validated. All this months, I tried validating it to no avail . There is less than $2.00 on my PayPal account but still it cannot validate my Empowr account. Maybe I need to add more dollars so that I can also use it to buy at the market place or pay add platform fees but I was thinking of my power levels to pay it. As for buying at the market place, I was expecting my matured cashout to take care of that since I have been here since April. I really need more enlightening about empowr please help me. Hey Susan, what products are you listing in the Marketplace? Have you filled in shipping details that state that you will only ship to certain places? This will help bring shipping costs down, because your buyer will be closer to you. In regard to your validation issue, if PayPal says that the account is validated but you continue to receive the prompt to validate your account by empowr, it may be due to an issue with your PayPal account and our ability to withdraw payments from it. In order to submit your payment successfully, it must have sufficient funds and you need to make sure you get the pre-approval key to submit payments to empowr. Another thing to check would be to confirm that your PayPal has never been connected with another empowr account. Please let me know if this helps or if you need any more guidance! Thanks!

Un saludo Brian y veo con preocupacion que el market sigue siendo el talon de aquiles de empowr y de que manera, es cierto que hay directrices para la publicacion de un list, ya sea un producto, un servicio o en su defecto un blog premiun, pero aun hay mucha subjetividad o ambieguedad al proceso de validacion de un list, es cierto que otro anuncio se dio una serie de parametros basicos para como poder alcanzar estas metas con respecto a los list, pero sucede lo siguiente:
1) Muchos seguimos los consejos de nuestros SC para tener la certeza de lo que se pueda listar esta dentro de los parametros de trabajo, tambien es cierto que ofrecer un producto muy tangible pueda tener dos cosas, o sea convierta en reventa y de alli hayan varios candidatops que opten a esa opcion es bien cierto, que detallando envios al interno de un pais, hay personas que hacen ofertas fuera del pais, por tanto el producto deba ser enviado fuera del territorio indicado, ahora bien tambien se presenta que aun vendiendo un producto el mismo no entra en el balance disponible de una vez, por lo cual queda en stand by, si se envia un producto que seguridad se tiene que ese monto o valor se diriga al vendedor en un lapso rapido para su disponibilidad o uso.

") He planteado amis coach, en lo que va de mes ya he tenido varios cambios, en que si lo que se genera del market sea reutilizado para el mismo m,arket esa dinamica se veria mejor reforzada, puesto lo que generas puedas reutilizarlo en el mismo market, una esencia que seria lo ideal, pero pasa tambien que todos pudieramos desear ver ese balance disponible como fruto propio de nuestro trabajo, que se puede plantear, lo siguientre, una parte en proporcion para uso propio del market y otra que s epueda contar como disponibilidad de una vez para cada ciudadano, o en su defecto sumatrlo alos pagos de honorarios de plataforma y poder muchos equilibrar su trabajo diario.

·) Esta pasando y es una inquietud al respecto ya comunicada a los SC y no teniendo respuestas, que si al convertirse en sponsor de un producto del cual fisicamente no se posee, pero por medio de la reventa o sponsor es adquirido por un tercero, y este solicite el envio....la logica es que como somos notificados el mesaje llegara al vendedor original y asi este hiciera el envio del mismo, cubriendonos las espaldas todos en un proceso de ganar todos, el comprador, el sponsor y asi el vendedor, he notado con preocupacion que si al momento de que vence un auction de un producto siendo sponsor el sistema busca cobrarte el cargo de dicho producto, y si se reactiva la opcion de auction esta cambia, no se estara generando cobros adicionales sobre ese producto, como se revierte o como es ese ingreso, tambien la opcion de los paypal top up, que es sumar o recargar saldo de nuestro paypal y aun se convierta en balance propio no le veo la idea, el porque hay fondos posibles del mismo markiet pata ser reutilizado.

4) He leido de otras personas que han tenido problemas sobre un producto listado y luego rechazado si habia tenido ciertra rotacion, me paso que ayer 4 dias al total me fueron rechazados productos, y he mantenido la misma metodologia de trabajo, es mas si a un dia me salian como aprobados al dia de ayer me salen como rechazados es contradictorio eso no? anexo capturas de pantalla para demostrar eso.

5) Tambien he notado que una recomendacion era hacer unos list por encima al diario exigido, si bien es logico es contradictorio por el simple hecho que si haces 4 list y todos por igual sea rechazados el bloqueo sera mas rapido, creo saturar el mercado con mas list, y los tiempos en que puedan ser revisados tambien produce mas lentitud al respecto, tengo conocidos que han estado bloqueados y han pasado los 7 dias y aun persiste seguir asi, les he indicado canalizar de alguna manera para que....

Parea que puedan listar sin problemas y cubrir nuestras metas diarias, todos dedicamos tiempo y dedicacion hacer de empowr cada dia mejor, pero como ya he dicho el market es el talon de aquiles, ojala algunas de las observaciones puedan ser analizadas y a partir de alli crear un debate que permita mejorar, no seguir en un bucle que acad cierto tiempo se vuelve a tocar y analizar y no tiene las mejoras del caso.

Por tiempo no puedo aportar mas y por ende quedar con algunas ideas mas a expresar, espero que algun SC pueda tomar mis comentarios y poder saber mas, asi de tu parte Brian como presidente de nuestra comunidad.

Thank you for the update Brian. Just some points of observation:
As far as my experience is concerned, all of the rejected listings I had in one of my communities bears no reason for rejection . I hope moderators would really take time to put something as a reason so we would not repeat the same mistake.
Also, can we have an option to delete inactive market place listings or just to have the relisting of an item count to the daily goals?
