Hello everyone,

Over the past 24 hours, several fixes have been rolled out to address issues reported over the weekend. Full details on each of those items and other important information is listed below.

 

Issues with transferring in/out

Over the weekend, the ability for everyone to transfer in/out from their Coin Savings Vault was disabled due to an issue with the EMPR transfer in functionality.

This issue is currently being resolved and the ability to transfer in EMPR and EMPRO to your Coin Savings Vault is expected to be enabled once again in the next 24-36 hours.

In the meantime, we have re-enabled your ability to transfer coins out.

 

Creating new marketplace listings

The photo upload error that blocked the creation of new marketplace listings has now been resolved. If you have not already attempted to create a new listing, please feel free to do so. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Remember, you can still hit your listing goal for previous days if you sell enough items in the marketplace.

 

Dormant accounts

Over the past week, several citizens have inquired as to why they are unable to transfer out their fully matured coin balance. Upon further investigation, the cause for this is due to their accounts being classified as “dormant”.

As a reminder, dormant accounts are those where a citizen is not hitting their daily goals the majority of the time (IE: less than 16 times in the past 30 days). Dormant accounts are subject to 1 year maturation before the coins earned can be transferred out. (And yes, we removed the concept of ‘dormant fees’, so no one is charged for their accounts being dormant).

To ensure you do not have a dormant account and/or make your account no longer be dormant, be sure to hit your daily goals most of the time.

 

Remember, site downtime coming soon

As discussed a few times over the last couple of months, the empowr engineering team has been very focused on a large (by that I mean MASSIVE) computer infrastructure project that will help make empowr more efficient and cost-effective – so that as the traffic grows, our costs will not grow at the same rate.

The final rollout for this project will happen within the next 1-2 weeks and, at that time, the site will unfortunately need to be taken down for an extended period of time in order for the project to be completed.

More details will be forthcoming, but our estimated timeline is for the site to be down for about 48 hours.

The team will be doing their best to prepare ahead of time so that the downtime is minimal, but please prepare for up to 48 hours (and possibly longer) as the process will be quite extensive.

The good news is that, after we’re up and running again, and any issues reported by community have been corrected, we’ll be ready to go with the incredibly amazing 2019 growth plans, including the new ‘Wanted’ listings followed shortly afterwards by the local merchant and app platforms.

In addition, sometime in the next day or two, there may need to be 1 or more short periods of downtime. If or when those periods of downtime need to occur, we will announce them as early as possible so that everyone can plan accordingly.

My coins were transferred out of my ether wallet when I was transferring them to my coin vault. They didn't arrive in my coin vault. (EMPR to EMPRO).

Just another thought. Why not take the site down for a whole week to make sure that the upgrades are tested thoroughly before releasing them to the community? I am sure that the SC's and many of the long standing citizens would appreciate the break and the engineers could work in a more stress free environment if the time pressures were reduced

Looks to me like the Empr is outperforming the Empro on the exchanges. Could it be that because there are no trading bonuses, people are actually trading sensibly in order to make a profit rather than buying and selling just to get the bonus?

Hi Ken - again, our focus is not on the short term valuation of the currency - it's on adoption and ensuring sellers (and everyone else) have the ability to easily liquidate the coins they earn on empowr. The trading volume of EMPR is almost nil - which is what happens when people are not incentivized to trade. As our trading volume starts to increase to levels where we don't need the bonuses, we will absolutely remove them.

Hello Brian, I have a question about the update. Hitting daily goal 16 times a month is very expensive for me, even though I understand the importance of growing the marketplace. Also, when people bid on my items and win the auction, many people let the items stay forever on "pending decision to pay or sponsor". This is not very motivating and even I contact the buyer and ask him or her to decide, nothing happens. I believe that the more we have to bid on each other's items, the more pending sales will happen. Is there something empowr can do about the pending decision? Example give people only 48 hours to think if they will buy or sponsor. If nothing happens the item can automatically become "unpaid item". What do you think?

Yes - the buyer should only have 24 hours to make a decision before they are either charged for the item or it's marked as unpaid. Will see what we can do to fix this as soon as possible.

I don't have any money to shop with. I wish you take a look at my whole account. I have filled out the issue reports and nothing has happened. Check out mt Ethereum in my wallet before the upgrade and then I have added $29.00 more of Ethereum. It is all gone too.When this next down time is up and running that my account would be fixed and I would have money to spend in the market place and I would have my ETH back. Pleace check this out.
