In this era of competition fitness is a factor that cannot be ignored in any respect. The increasingly unhealthy food habits and mechanized life style has drawn a large lot of the population to the condition of being obese which is an issue of great concern especially for the Asia-Pacific population who are at a greater risk of glucose and lipid abnormalities.

Overweight and obesity are slightly different but still risky. When the Body –Mass Index (BMI) ranges from 25-29.9 the person is said to be overweight while a BMI exceeding 30 indicates obesity. 

Causes of overweight include overeating, excessive eating of heavy or cold things, and oversleeping and lack of exercise. Other causes include hormone imbalance (hypothyroid), emotional sentimentality, clinging, loss of love or low self-worth, insecurity, and poor digestion. Whatever is the reason it is important for a healthy living to curb the unhealthy fat deposition.
